Politician. Shouse was born in Midway, Ky. December 10, 1879, the son of the Reverend Samuel Shouse. He was on the staff of the Lexington HERALD from 1898-1904. In 1911, he went to Kansas, where he was married. Elected to Congress from the 7th Kansas District in 1915, Shouse served in the 64th and 65th Congresses.
